Cowes Classic Week will usually start 2 weeks before Cowes Week. Provisional dates are therefore as follows, with a note on major initiatives being planned:

• 2011: 24 to 30 July
  
  
  • Daring: 50th Anniversary of this Arthur Robb designed class, based on the successful 5.5mR Vision. Expect major celebrations.
    
    
  • X One Design: 100th Anniversary of when these popular boats first sailed
    
    
  • 50th Anniversary of the first Cowes to Torquay Offshore Powerboat Race: planned rally to bring a totally different dimension to Cowes Classic Week. Organised in conjunction with the Classic Offshore Powerboat Owners Club
    
    
• 2012: 22-28 July
  
  
  • 2012 is Olympic year - we are anticipating the Big Boats will again join us along with more modern Superyachts. (NB: the week before the Olympics. Cowes Week will be 2 weeks later, after the Olympics)
    
    
  • We are anticipating that there will be a celebration of the sport of sailing organised in conjunction with the British National Yachting Archive
